Dr. Douglas E. Lewis, Jr. brings nearly 16 years of focused experience in clinical and forensic psychology, delivering objective, evidence-based evaluations and expert testimony accepted in juvenile, state, and federal courts nationwide.
He holds active psychology licenses in Georgia and Virginia, Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology via PSYPACT, and is credentialed as a National Register of Health Service Psychologist and designated an Approved Adult (and Juvenile) Forensic Evaluator on the Commissioner’s List for the State of Virginia.
His forensic background includes roles with state courts, correctional facilities (e.g., Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison, Cobb County Adult Detention Center), and the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, under whose auspices he has developed and overseen direct services for a jail-based competency restoration program.
As an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine (Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences), he lectures on forensic topics and mentors residents. His research on jail-based competency restoration has been published in Criminal Justice and Behavior and presented at national conferences (American Psychological Association, American Psychology-Law Society).
